[:en]Thoughts from “Our Daily Bread” (1/18/18)[:]

[:en]In the winter of 2009, a large passenger plane made a safe emergency landing in NewYork’s Hudson River without any casualties.  When asked about those moments in the air when he faced with a life-or-death decision, the pilot, Captain Chesley Sullenberger said:  “One way of looking at this might be that for 42 years, I have been making small, regular deposits in this bank of experience, education, and training.  And on that day, the balance was sufficient so that I could make a very large withdrawal”

We also face many crises in life.  Whether it is a job termination, results of a medical test, or the loss of a precious family member or friend, we need to draw the reserves of our spiritual bank account to strengthen us.  If we have a deep relationship with God, we have been making regular “deposits” of faith.  The promises of Scripture, His grace, faithfulness and love are sufficient for us to trust in Him and give us hope in the future.

Are you making your “deposits” of faith daily?[:]
