[:en]Thoughts from “Our Daily Bread” (1/24/18)[:]

[:en]Icilda was the daughter of Marion Stroud who had a boyfriend Philip.  When they got engaged, he was quite concerned because they were such different personalities. But he was horrified to realize that the critical things he said so casually 15 years ago had stayed in her memory and could possibly have destroyed a relationship[ that has proved to be so right and happy.  His son-in-law had been wonderfully caring and supportive to daughter inspite  of her ill health.

We need to guard what we say to others.  The tongue is a small body, yet the words it shapes can either destroy a relationship or bring harmony and peace to the family, church, school or the community.    Let us remember to set a guard over our mouth and keep watch over the door of our lips. (Ps. 141:3)
