[:en]Thoughts from “Our Daily Bread’ (12/29/17)[:]

[:en]Nehemiah was a cupbearer of the King of Persia.  But he did not allow his comforted position in life to nullify his concerns for his countrymen.  When he learned that those who survived the exile were in great trouble and disgrace, and the wall of Jerusalem had broken down, his heart broke.  He fasted and prayed to God to do something about the terrible conditions.  God enabled Nehemiah to return to Jerusalem and lead the rebuilding of the wall.  Nehemiah accomplished great things because of his great concerns for people.

May God open our eyes to see the needs of those around us.  May we be an instrument of God to bring help and blessings to others.[:]
