[:en]Thoughts from Luke 12[:]

[:en]Christ’s Teachings:

  1.  Beware of hypocrisy – trying to appear holy but his heart is far from God (v. 1-3)
  2. Fear God – do not fear people.  Be courageous to stand up for Christ. (vs. 4-5)
  3. You are valuable to God – Even the very hairs on your head are numbered (v. 6)
  4. Do not deny Jesus

In what ways are you denying Christ?

  •  You are ashamed to let people know that you are a christian
  • You do not speak what is right
  • You are silent about your relationship with God
  • You compromise with the world
  • You accept cultures non-Christian values

May we ponder His Words and examine our hearts if we have in one way or another denied Him.

In what ways are you acknowledging Christ?

  • Live a normal and upright Christian life
  • Acknowledge your loyalty to Christ by sharing your faith
  • Help others in need
  • Stand for justice
  • Use your life and resources for His kingdom

Do you live a life that acknowledge Christ?

5.  “Anyone who speaks blasphemies against the Holy Spirit will never be forgiven”  (v. 10)

6.  “Do not be greedy for what you don’t have.  Real life is not measured by how much we have” (v. 16)    A person is considered as fool if he stored up earth wealth but does not have a rich relationship with God.

7.  ” Don’t worry about life.  Can all your worries add a single moment to your life?”  (vs. 22, 25)   “Seek His kingdom and He will give all you need” (v. 31)

8.  “Wherever your treasure is, there your heart and thoughts will also be (v. 33)

9.  “Be ready because the Son of Man will come at an horn when you do not expect Him” (v. 40)

10.  “For everyone who has been given much, much will be demanded and from the one who has been entrusted with much, much more will be asked”  (v. 48).  The more resources and talents you have, the more you are required to use them effectively for the Lord.

11.  “I have come not to bring peace but division” (vs. 51-52).  It means that His coming often results in conflicts.  Family members may be split apart because some choose to follow Him while others refuse to do so.  Family disapproval may arise and relationship severed because there is no middle ground with Jesus.  He demands loyalty and full commitment.

12.  Jesus was saying to the hypocrites if they knew how to interpret the natural signs – appearance of earth and the sky, why are they ignoring the signs of the coming of God’s kingdom (vs. 54-59)
