[:en]Thoughts from “Our Daily Bread” (5/13/18)[:]

[:en]Today is Mother’s Day.  As we commemorate the sacrificial love of a mother for her child, let us also remember that God compares His love for His people with a mother’s love for her child.   When the people of Israel felt abandoned by God during their exile, they complained:  “The Lord has forsaken me, the Lord has forgotten me” (Isa. 49:14).  But God said:  “Can a mother forget the baby at her breast and have no compassion on the child she has borne?  though she may forget, I will not forget you!” (Isa. 49: 15)

Family, relatives, friends, society may abandon us but God will never forget nor forsake us.  For the Lord says: “I have engraved you on the palms of my hands” (Isa. 49:16)  God will always protect and provide, for He cares for us.[:]
