[:en]Thoughts from “Our Daily Bread” (5/29/18)[:]

[:en]Harriet Tubman was a young slave who was treated badly.  But she found hope from the Bible stories of Israel’s deliverance from slavery.  She was able to escape by going to Maryland state and found freedom there.  However, she was concern about many who were still in slavery.  So she led more than a dozen rescue missions to free those still in slavery despite of personal danger.

When Jesus sent His disciples to proclaim the gospel, Jesus knew that they were exposed to risk and danger.  But Jesus had compassion on the lost because they were like sheep without shepherd.

May the courageous example of Harriet Tubman and the disciples of Christ inspire us to remember those who remain without hope in this world.  May we be an instrument of God for them to find peace and purpose in life.[:]
