[:en]In the laws of the Old Testament, it says: “Obey God and get blessed; Disobey Him and expect trouble”. But are those statements applicable to everyone? Job was blameless and upright, yet he lost his wealth, his children and was stricken with sickness. Joseph was honest and pure but was accused of attempted rape and languished in prison for years. (Gen. 39-19-41). Jeremiah told the truth to the rebellious people and was beaten and put in stocks at the Upper Gate of Benjamin at the Lord’s temple. (Jer. 20:2)
So, life is not easy and simple. Doing the right things requires courage and perseverance and does not guaranty smooth sailing. For God’s ways are not our ways. His thoughts are not our thoughts. But in God’s eternal plan, His blessings will arrive in due time.[:]
