[:en]Thoughts from “Our Daily Bread” (6/20/18)[:]

[:en]When the troops of the US Army wanted to voice out their approval, they responded with a response bark of  “HOO-AH”.  Its original meaning was lost to history, but some said it was derived from an old acronym HUA – Heard, Understood, and Acknowledged.

While David Roper was having a Bible study of the Psalm,  a former man of the 82nd Airborne Division was reading one of the psalms with the notation of ‘SELAH”.  Instead of reading “SELAH”, he growled “HOO-AH” and that became their word for “SELAH” ever after.

No one knows what “SELAH” means.   Some say it is only a musical notation.  But it often appears after a truth that calls for a deep-seated emotional response.

In Psalm 68:19, it says “Blessed be the Lord,  to God our Savior, who daily bears our burdens –  “SELAH”.  It means that every single morning, God carries our burdens on His shoulder and keep us safe and secure in His care.  We don’t have to be afraid or worry of anything as long as we put our trust in Him.
