[:en]Thoughts from “Our Daily Bread” (6/8/18)[:]

[:en]Apostle Paul was under house arrest when he wrote “I desire to depart and be with Christ, which is better by far” (Phil. 1:23)  His statement was rejoicing because his suffering had caused the gospel to spread. (Phil. 12-14)

But Paul was torn between a desire for life and death.  For him, to live means a fruitful labor.  And to die means to be absent from our bodies and to be home with the Lord (2 Cor. 5:6-8).  Paul declared:  “For to me, to live is Christ and to die is gain” (Phil. 1:21)

Le us find security and peace in Christ whether we live or we die.[:]
