[:en]Thoughts from “Our Daily Bread” (7/23/18)[:]

[:en]What can fear do to you?  It paints a picture of helplessness and hopelessness.  It steals your peace and concentration.  What are you fearful about?  Loss of job, failure of business, broken relationship, health of our love ones, safety of our family.

Whenever fear and worries strike, read David’s prayer in Psalm 34:  “I sought the Lord, and He answered me; He delivered me from all fears” (v. 4).  When you “look to Him” and focus on Him, all your fears fade away. Trust Him to be in control of your life.  He can free you from all fears.

There is a different type of “fear” – a deep respect and awe of the Lord that we need.  When we fear the Lord, we remember who God is and what He does.  We can relax into His peace because “those who fear him lack nothing” (Ps. 34:9)[:]
