[:en]Friends are important in our lives.  That is why there are may Bible verses that  mention about friends:

“A man of many companions may come to ruin but there is a friend who stick close than a brother” (Prov. 18:24)

“Greater love has no one than this:  that he lay down his life for his friends” (John 15:13)

“A friend loves at all times and a brother is  born for adversity” (Prov. 17:17)

“Wounds from a friend can be trusted, but an enemy multiplies kisses” (Prov. 27:6)

“The righteous choose their friends carefully but the way of the wicked leads them astray” (Prov. 12:20)

There are two individuals that were called friends of God.  Moses (Exo. 33:11) and Abraham (James 2:23; 2 Chron. 20:7, Isa. 41:8).  Jesus calls those who belong to Him friends.  “I have called you friends, for everything that I learned from my Father I have made known to you” (John 15:15).  He is the perfect friend for us – loyal, faithful, sincere, true, affectionate, understanding, empathetic, forgiving and patient.

“What a privilege and blessing to have Jesus as our friend!  He is a friend who will never leave us or forsake us.  He intercedes for us, supplies our needs, understands our sorrows and gives us sufficient grace in times of trouble.  Jesus is indeed our best friend!” – Joe Stowell
