[:en]In Iconium (vs. 1-7)
Paul and Barabas visited Iconium and spent considerable time there speaking boldly for the Lord. The people there were divided. Some sided with the Jews while others sided with the apostles. Then they found out a plot to stone them and fled to cities of Lystra and Derbe, where they continued to preach the good news.
In Lystra and Derbe (vs. 8-20)
In Lystra, Paul healed a crippled man who was lame from birth and had never walked. When the crowd saw what Paul had done, they thought that the god had descended in human form. They called Barnabas Zeus (Jupiter) and Paul Hermes (Mercy). They honored them and offered sacrifices. But Paul said: “Men, why are you doing this? We too are only men, human like you. We are telling you to turn from these worthless things to the living God, who made heaven and earth and sea and everything in them. He had shown kindness by giving you rain from heaven and provided them with crops in their seasons. He had provided you with plenty of food and filled your hearts with joy” (vs. 15-17).
But some Jews came from Antioch and Iconium and stirred up the crowd to stone Paul. The next day, Paul and Barnabas left for Derbe.
The Return to Antioch in Syria (vs. 11-28)
Despite of the dangers, Paul and Barnabas risked their lives and returned to visit the believers in all the cities to organize the church leadership so that they can grow under spirit lead leaders.
