[:en]Thoughts from Acts 23[:]

[:en]Ananias was described as a profane, greedy and hot tempered high priest.  He had violated Jewish law by ordering his punishment and assuming him guilty without trial.  Paul knew that the council was a mixture of Sadducees  and Pharisees.  He took this opportunity to identify himself as a Pharisee, thus dividing the council.

The Plot to Kill Paul (vs. 12-22)

The commander ordered his men to take Paul safely to Governor Felix in Caesarea.  They brought with them a letter from Clautius Lysias addressed to Governor Felix to answer the Jew’s accusation.
