Paul Preaches at Rome Under Guard (vs. 17-31)
Paul was able to preach the Good News in Rome to both the Jews and the Gentiles. He used the Old Testament to teach the Jews that Jesus was the Messiah, the fulfillment of God’s promise. While under house arrest, he wrote letters to Ephesians, Colossians, Philippians and Philemon. Luke was with Paul in Rome (2 Tim. 4:11) , Timothy was with Paul (Phil. 1:1, Col 1:1, Philemon 1:1) and Aristarchus was with Paul (Col. 4:10). Among those who visited him were Tychicus (Eph. 6:21), Epaphroditus (Phil. 4:18) and Mark (Col. 4:10). Paul witnessed to the whole Roman guard (Phil. l”13) and was in acquaintance with the Roman believers. He stayed in Rome for 2 whole years to boldly preach the Kingdom of God and teach about the Lord Jesus Christ. (v. 31)
Today, we should also spread the Good News so that many more may hear the message of salvation and believe in Him.[:]
