[:en]”Comparison obsession” is common today.  Siblings, students, business executives, stock analysts, layers, doctors, teachers and other professionals are obsessed with comparing their own achievements against those of others.  They define success based on external criteria and diminish their satisfaction and commitment.

When we compare ourselves with others, it results in two scenarios.  Either we become proud and look down on others (Luke 18:9-14), or we become jealous and want to be like them or have what they have (James 4:1).  Instead of focusing on what God has given us , we start to feel that God is unfair because He is more generous to others than He is to us (Mat. 20:1-16)

By God’s grace, let us overcome “comparison obsession” and focus on God’s blessings with gratefulness.[:]
