[:en]Thoughts from Romans 15[:]

[:en]Jesus Christ set an example of not pleasing Himself.   So Paul urged the Christians to bear with the failings of the weak and not to please ourselves in order to build others up.

We need to read the Scripture diligently so that we may be encouraged to endure hardship.  As we follow Christ, we are capable to maintain the spirit of unity to other Christians.  “Accept one another then, just as Christ accepted you, in order to bring praise to God” (v. 7).  Paul gave this blessings:  “May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as your trust in Him so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit” (v. 13)

Paul the Minister to the Gentiles (vs. 14-22)

Paul wanted to visit the church in Rome.  But since he heard good reports about the believers there, so he delayed his visit and instead preached in areas that had not heard the Good News.  He had fully proclaimed the gospel of Christ for Jerusalem all the way to Illyricum.  Illyricum was a Roman territory on the Adriatic Sea which is the present day Italy and Greece.

Paul’s Plan to Visit Rome (vs. 23-33)

Paul planned to go to Spain and bring Christianity there.  He will visit Rome also.  He urged the brethrens in Jesus Christ to pray to God for protection against the unbelievers in Judea and that his service in Jerusalem may be acceptable to the saints there.

Let us use prayer as a weapon to fight against Satan.   Let us intercede for others in their struggles while proclaiming the gospel.[:]
