[:en]Thoughts from “Our Daily Bread” (9/12/18)[:]

[:en]The Parable of the 10 Virgins was about 10 virgins who took their lamps and went out to meet the bridegroom.  Five of them were foolish because they did not take any oil with them.  The other five were wise because they took oils in jars along with their lamp.  When the bridegroom came at midnight, all the virgins went to meet him.  But as they turned on their lamps, the five virgins without oil were not able to light their lamps and ask some oil from the five wise virgins.  The wise virgins refused to share their oil and told them to buy it themselves.  So when the bridegroom arrived, the virgins who were ready, went in with him to the wedding banquet.  And the door was shut.  When the other five came back, they were not able to enter.  (Mat. 25:1-13)

This parable teaches us to keep watch and be ready for Christ to come again because we do not know the day or the hour.[:]
