The possessions that we have will soon pass away. What is important in life is our relationship with the Lord and the love and care that we have shown to others.
Jesus taught us to set our minds above and not on earthly things (Col. 3:2) He wants us to be generous to the poor and to store up treasures in heaven. “For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also” (Luke 12:34)
