[:en]RUDE, UNGRATEFUL AND FOOLISH
When David was running from Saul, he provded security detail for the sheep of a wealthy man named Nabal. When David learned that Nabal was shearing those sheep and celebrating with a feast, he sent ten of his men to politely ask for food as remuneration for these duties. (1 Sam. 4-8). Nabal rudely responded: “Who is this David? … Why should I take my bread and water, and the meat…, and give it to men coming from who knows where?” (1 Sam. 1:10-11). He disrespected David, called out insults, and did not invite David to the feast. (Marvin Williams)
Many times, we are like Nabal. We are selfish, ungrateful and act foolishly. Let us ask God to give us a heart of integrity and compassion and get rid of our self-centerness.[:]
