[:en]LOVE (vs. 1-13)

Without love, all spiritual gifts are nothing.  Great faith, gifts of prophesy, knowledge, sacrifices, generosity, miracle are of no effect without love.  It is love that moves our actions to make our gifts useful.

Love is:  Patient, kind, rejoice in truth, protect, trusts, hopes, persevere and never fails.  Love is not:  envious, boastful, proud, rude, self-seeking, easily angered, keeps wrong records, and delights in evil.

Prophesies will cease, tongues will be stilled, knowledge will pass away, but love never fails.  In the future, when the perfector comes, we shall see God face to face and be able to fully understand God’s perspective.  At present, those 3 reamain:  FAITH, HOPE AND LOVE.  But the greatest of these is Love (v. 13).  Love is showing useful service and care to others in action.
