[:en]Thoughts from 1 Thessalonians 3[:]

[:en]Paul sent Timothy to strengthen and encourage the Thessalonians in their faith during their trials.  He was afraid that Satan’s power may affect their spiritual and physical world.

TIMOTHY’S ENCOURAGING REPORT (vs. 6-13)

When Timothy returned, he brought good news about their faith and love.  The Thessalonians had pleasant memories of them and they were standing firm in the Lord.  This brought great joy to Paul.  He prayed for their continued growth.

Paul gave these benedictions to the Thessalonian believers:

  1. May the Lord make your love increase and overflow from each other
  2. May He strengthen your hearts so that you wil be blameless and holy in His presence.

SUMMARY:

  1. God does not promise Christians without sufferings, persecutions and troubles.  But He gives us the power to grow through suffering.
  2. Satan, the tempter is the most powerful of the evil spirits but Jesus defeated Satan when He died on the cross for our sins and rose again to bring us new life.
  3. We should be joyful when a Christian come to know Christ.  We should also pray for their continued growth.
  4. Let us increase our love continually and look for opportunities to express His love to others.
