[:en]Thoughts from 2 Corinthians 9[:]

[:en]Paul reminded the Corinthian believers to fulfill the commitment of giving financial gift to the church in Jerusalem.  He sent a few men ahead of him to make sure their gift was ready without looking for people to give under pressure at the last minute.  He was hlding them accountable to keep their promise so that neither Paul nore the Corinthian church would not be embarassed.

SOWING GENEROUSLY (vs. 6-15)

“Whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly and whoever sows generously will also reap generously.  Each one should give what he has decided in his heart to give, not reluctantly or under complusion.  For God loves a cheerful giver.  And God is able to make all grace abound to you so that in all things at all times, having all that you need, you will abound in every good work” (vs. 6-8).  “You will be made rich in everything so that you can be generous on every ocassion and your generosity will result in thanksgiving to God” (v. 11)

Paul used the illustration of need to explain what to do with the resources that God has given us. It should be cultivated in order to produce more crops.  When we invest what God has given us in His work, He will provide us with even more to give in His service.  “You wil be made rich in every way so that you can be generous on every occasion and your generosity will result in thanksgiving to God”: (v. 11)   To those who give generously to God’s wor, they shall reap spiritual rewards.  Men will praise God for yur generosity in sharing with them and they will pray for you.  As you bless others, you will also be blessed.[:]
