[:en]MADE ALIVE IN CHRIST (vs. 1-10)
In God’s eyes, no one is good. All of us live in sin obeying Satan, the mighty price of the pwer of the air who is at work in the hearts of those who refuse to obey God. We are born with an evil nature following the passions and desires of an evil nature. But God in His love and mercy, gave us life even while were were dead. “For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith – and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God – not by works, so that no one can boast. For we are God’s workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do. (vs. 9-10)
ONE IN CHRIST (vs. 1-22)
Both the Jews and Gentiles were unclean before God and needed to be cleansed by Christ. The Jews thought that their faith and traditions elevated them above everyone else. The Gentiles were guilty of trusting in their achivements, power or position.
Christ revealed the total sinfulness of both the Jews and Gentiles and offered salvation to both. He broke down the walls of prejudice, reconciled and united all believers to God in one body.
Christ’s death had destroyed the barrier against each other. He reconciled both of them to God through the cross and put to death the dividing wall of hostility. Through Him, we both have access to the Father by one Spirit (v. 18)
“Therefore, you are no longer foreigners and aliens, but fellow citizens with God”s people and members of God”s household, built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, with Christ Jesus himself as the chief cornerstone. In Him the whole building is joined together and rises to become a holy temple in the Lord. And in Him you too are being built together to become a dwelling in which God lives by his Spirit” (vs. 19-22)[:]
