[:en]THE GIFT OF ENCOURAGEMENT

Joseph, a man from Cyprus, was among the early followers of Jesus.  The apostles called him Barnabas, which means “son of encouragement”.  He sold a piece of property and donated the money to help other believers in need. (Acts 4:36-37)

Paul, later called Paul was a zealous Pharisee, who tried to kill the believers.  The disciples were afraid of Saul even when he was alread converted.  But Barnabas took him to the disciples and defended him as a man transformed by Christ.

Let us try to emulate Barnabas who demonstrated generosity and encouragement.  People all aound us needs to be encouraged by a timely word, a phone call or phone call to bolster their faith in Jesus.  Let it be the greatest gift you can give it to othes this Christmas – David Mccasland[:]
