[:en]WORSHIP IN THE EARTHLY TABERNACLE (vs. 1-10)

An earthly sanctuary for worship was set up where the lampstand, table and consecrated bread were placed.  This was called the Holy Place.  Behind the second curtain was a room called the Most Holy Place, which had the golden altar of incense and the gold-covered ark of the covenant.  This ark contained the gold jar of manna, Aaron’s staff that had budded, and the stone tablets of the covenant.   Above the ark were the cherubim of the Glory, overshadowing the atonement cover. (vs. 4-5)  Only the high priest could enter the Most Holy Place once a year and used the animal’s blood to atone for his sins and the sins of the nation..

THE BLOOD OF CHRIST (vs. 11-38)

The people had to keep the Old Testatment dietary laws and ceremonial cleansing laws until Christ came.  When Christ came as high priest, He entered the most Holy Place once for all by his own blood.  By Jesus’ blood, our conscience is cleared.  We are freed from death’s sting and sin’s power.  Christ’s sacrifice transforms our life, our hurts and makes us clean on the inside.  He is the mediator of the new covenant so that those who are called may receive the promised eternal inheritance.  After shedding His blood for us, Christ rose from the grave and proclaimed victory over sin and death.

Christ has forgiven our past sins when He died on the cross.  He has given us the Holy Spirit to help us deal with present sin.  He is now in heaven as our Advocate and promises to return and raise us to eternal life.

“Just as man is destined to die once and after that to face judgment, so Christ was sacrificed once to take away the sins of many people.  And He will appear a second time not to bear sin but to bring salvation to those who are wanting for Him” (vs. 27-28)

Are you ready to accept His call?[:]
