[:en]REBUILDING

Nehemiah had been in exile from the land of Israel for many years.  One of his brothers, Hanani came from Judah with some other men told him that those who survied the exile in the province are in great trouble and disgrace.  The wall of Jerusalem was broken down and its gates had been burned with fire.   When Nehemiah heard  it, he wept, mourned, fasted and prayed before the God of heaven. (Neh. 1:2-4) The Lord heard his prayer and he was given permission from the Persian king, Artaxerxes to return and rebuild the walls.  Nehemiah went and inspected the walls of Jerusalem.  He then called on the people to start rebuilding the wall of Jerusalem.  He encountered opposition and troubles but was able to complete the wall in 52 days.

Let us not look at our past with disgrace.  Let us look ahead, move forward and rebuild our future with confidence by faith in Christ. – (David Mccasland)[:]
