[:en]Thoughts from Psalms 13[:]

[:en]Ini this chapter, David used “HOW LONG” four times to express the depth of his distress and agony:

  1. How long will you forget me?
  2. How long will you hide your face from me?
  3. How long must I wrestle with my thoughts and everyday have sorrow in my heart?
  4. How long will my enemy triumph over me?

The first and second “How long”, David focused on God.  The third “How long”, he looked at himself.  The last “How long”, he pointed out on his enemy.

When we have a problem, we can express our feelings to God to find strength.  He can help us regain the right perspective and give us peace. (Hab. 3:17-19)

David felt that God was slow to act on his behalf.  But he still continued to trust in the Lord and find hope in Him.  Sometimes, when our prayer is unanswered, we become impatient and wonder why God allows evil and suffering to go unchecked.  When you are that situation, remember David’s steadfast faith in God’s unfailing love.[:]
