[:en]Thoughts from Psalms 29[:]

[:en]David wrote “the voice of the Lord” seven times.  It signifies the description of a storm.  David was out in the field or in a cave somewhere when this storm came by.  Before the storm, he ascribed to the Lord the glory and strength due His name and the splendor of His holiness.

When you see clouds gathjeting and know that a storm is coming in your life, do you think of escape or of the glory of God?

Description of the storm (vs. 3-9)

  1.  It is over the waters with God’s glory
  2. It is powerful and majestic
  3. It breaks the cedars of lebanono into pieces and makes Lebanon skip like a calf
  4. It strikes with flashes of lighting
  5. It shakes the Desert of Kadesh
  6. It twiests the oaks and strips the forest bare

God’s Sovereignty:  (vs. 10-11)

“The Lord entrhoned over the the flood; the Lord is entrhroned as king forever.  The Lord gives strength to His pople’ the Lord blesses His people with peace”

God is our only real source of safety.  Prayer is our best help whenm trials come our way.[:]
