[:en]David asked 4 things from God: (v. 1)
- Answer me when I call you
- Give me relief from my distress
- Be merciful to me
- Hear my prayer.
Men had be disloyal to David. But David was confident that since he was being set apart, God will hear him.
He gave these advices: (vs. 4-5)
- In your anger, do not sin
- Search your heart
- Be silent
- Offer right sacrifice
- Trust in the Lord
David spoke of JOY – the inward joy and the outward joy. Inward joy comes from knowing and trusting God. Outward joy on happiness coming from the result of pleasant circumstances. Grain and new wine are examples of happiness that people enjoy. It is temporary and unpredictable. But to be able to lie down and sleep in peace and dwell safely in God’s protection is an inner joy that is steady and long lasting.
