[:en]”O Lord, our Lord, how majestic is your name in all the earth” appears at the beginning and the end of this Psalm. The first “Lord” means “Jehovah”, the covenant-keeping God, the God who keeps His promise. The second “Lord” means “the sovereign”, the one who not only has the ability but the authority.
The Psalmist was praising God for God’s care when he wrote: “What is man that you are mindful of him, the son of man that you care for him? He was exalting the dignity of man when he wrote: “You made him a lower than the heavenly beings and crowns him with glory and honor (vs. 4-5). God considers us highly valuable because we are created in His image bearing the stamp of the creator. So, refrain from having the feeling of worthlessness.
God gave to Adam and Eve the first crown. But because they wanted to become like God, they handed that crown and scepters to Satan and lost their dominion. Man today does not have dominion over beasts and fowls and fish. Jesus had dominion over the fowl. He told that rooster to crow when Peter denied Him. He had dominion over the fish when he gathered them into the net when Peter was fishing. He had dominion over the animals of the field when he rode on a donkey. Although we have lost everything in Adam, but we have regained our spiritual dominance in Jesus Christ. We can reign in life through Christ and be victorious over sin and temptation. Death shall have no more dominion over us. Finally, we shall reign in His kingdom forever and ever. Yes, you are important to God and He has a purpose for you to fulfill. Have you trusted Christ as your Savior? Do you allow God to rule and reign in your life now?[:]
