[:en]THE NEW JERUSALEM (vs. 1-22)

After God’s judgment, He will create a new earth (Rom. 8:18-21, 2 Pet. 3:7-13).  God also promised that He would create a new heaven and a new earth (Isa. 65:17, 66:22).  Those name who are written in the Book of Life will be united and live there forever.

John saw the Holy City, the new Jerusalem coming down out of heaven from God.  It means that God is coming down to live among us!  The “New Jerusalem” is described as the place where God will remove all sorrows and pain.  There will be no death or crying.

God, the creator begins with the majestic creation of the universe and concludes with his creation of a new heaven and new earth.  The entire plan of salvation – creation, redemption is finished and will be completed by the new creation when all the redeemed will be united.

The list who will be placed in the fiery lake of burning sulfur are: – the coward, the unvelieveving, the vile, the murderous, the sexually immoral, those who produce magical arts, the idolaters and all liars.  The second death is spiritual death either eternal torment or destruction.  It is a permanent separation from God.

Here is a description of the Holy City.  It shone with brilliance like a jasper, clear as crystal.  It has a high wall with 12 foundations and on the wall the names of the 12 apostles of  the Lamb.  The foundation of the city walls was decorated with every kind of precious stones:  jasper, sapphire, chalcedony, emerald, sardonyx, carnelian, chrysolite, beryl, topaz, chrysoprase, jacinth and amethyst.

There are 12 gates with the 12 tribes of Israel written on it.  The 12 gates has 12 pearls each gate made of a single pearl.  There were 3 gates each on the east, west, north and south.  The great street of the city was of pure gold like transparent glass.  The city has 12,000 stadium in length, width and height.  It does not need the sun or moon to shine on it for the glory of God gives its light and the Lamb is its lamp.  Its gates will always be opened and the glory and honor of the nations will be brought into it.

The new Jerusalem will be a place of purity and durability.  Only those whose names are written in the Lamb’s “Book of Life” will be welcomed to enter.

How about you?  Do you think you will get in to the new Jerusalem?  You can, if you trust in Jesus today and secure your citizenship in His new creation.[:]
