[:en]ALL OF ME
The hymn “When I Survey the Wondrous Cross” written by Isaac Watts ushered us into the presence of Christ at the crucifixion. He described the awful moments of Jesus on the cross. How His head, His hands, and His feet being tortured so that sorrow and love met and mingled down. The Son of God strained for breath, held by crude spikes driven through His flesh. After tortured hours, a supernatural darkness decended. The merciful Lord of the universe dismissed His anguished spirit. An earthquake rattled the landscape and the thick temple curtain in the city ripped in half. Grave opened and dead bodies resurrected. (Mat. 27:51-53) Watt concluded his song with “Love so amazing, so divine demands my soul, my life, my all”
God has given everything – His life – to us. It is our privilege to give ALL OF US to Him. – (Tim Gustafson)[:]
