[:en]”Sing joyfully to the Lord with a new song. Praise the Lord with a harp and make music to Him on the 410-stringed lyre” (vs. 1-3). Where can we get a new song? From the Word of God (v. 4) and from the works of God (vs. 4-5). For He created the universe, holds the universe together and is guiding the universe and human history (v. 7) so that we must fear the Lord and revere Him (v. 8). The Lord foils the plan of the nations and thwarts the purpose of the people, but the purpose of His heart through all generations will stand firm forever (v. 11).
God blesses nations when God is their Lord (v. 12). He looks from heaven and sees all mankind on what they are doing (vs. 13-15). For the eyes of the Lord are on those who fear Him and on those whose hope is in His unfailing love (v. 18).
Sometimes God delays in answering prayer because He has a much better plan for you and He wants to give you a better blessing. God is working for you and in you if you trust in His holy name. The waiting will end and you will rejoice and praise Him (v. 20).
Things to ponder:
- Are you singing a new song to the Lord?
- Do you believe in God’s works and God’s Word?
- Are you obeying the Lord, letting your light shine for the Lord and praying for you nation?
- Can you wait on the Lord?
