[:en]David denounced the unjust rulers of his day when they condemned the righteous and defended the wicked. He used many images to describe them as he prayed for their judgment: “Make them become toothless lions (v. 6); let them vanish like water that flows away; make them broken arrows (v. 7). Let them be like stillborn children that never see the sun (v. 8). Let them burn up like a fuel under a pot and be taken like a whirlwind (v. 9). As a king, David was denouncing the national enemies, because he was concern about the righteousness of God. He wanted the righteous be avenged and rewarded because there is a God who judges the earth. (v. 11)
As a believer, we need backbone to oppose wickedness and proclaim the holiness of God. David left all judgment to the Lord but he had a holy anger against sin. Saints today need to take right and wrong more seriously, so that the church might have a more effective ministry as the salt of the earth and the light of the world.[:]
