[:en]Thoughts from Psalms 66[:]

[:en]”Shout with joy to God all the earth.  Sing the glory of His name; make His praise glorious; for His deeds are awesome and His power is great” (vs. 1-2)

What had God done to the people of Israel?

  1. He turned the sea into dry land (v. 6)
  2. He rules forever by His power (v. 7)
  3. He preserves their lives and keep their feet from slipping (v. 9)
  4. He listed and refined them like silver (v. 10)
  5. He brought them from prison through fire and water to a place of abundance (vs. 11-12)
  6. He had not rejected their prayer or withheld His love for them (v. 20)

The Psalmist concluded”  “If I had cherished sin in my heart, the Lord would not have listened, but God has surely listened and heard my voice in ptayer” (vs. 18-19)

Reflection:

  1.  Have you sung praises to the Lord for the wonderful deeds He has done in your life?
  2. Remember that when you have afllictions and going through fire and water, God is proving and refining you to be like Him.  And He will surely bring you into a place of abundance.
  3. For God to listen and hear your prayer, do not cherish sin your heart.  Confess it and ask Him to forgive you.
