[:en]DEFENDING GOD

When Jesus was planning to set out for Jerusalem, He sent messengers on ahead to a Samaritan village to get things ready for Him.  But unfortunatedly, the people there did not welcome him.  When the disciples James and John saw this,   they asked. “Lord, do you want us to call fire down from heaven to destroy them?”  Instead of being happy that the disciples sided with Him, He turned and rebuked them, and they went to another village.  (John 9:51-56)

When Jesus was arrested, Simon Peter drew a sword and struck the high priest’s servant, cutting off his right ear.  Instead of being happy because Simon Peter had defended Jesus, Jesus commanded Peter to put away his sword (John 18:10-11)

God does not need us to defend Him.  He wants us to represent Him.  The best way to defend Jesus is to live like Him. – (Tim Gustafson)[:]
