[:en]THE REMEDY FOR JEALOUSY

When David came home from his victorious fight against Goliath, people shouted: “Saul has killed his thousands, and David his ten thousands” (1 Sam. 18:7).  With this comment, King Saul gave in to the green-eyed monster of jealousy.   Saul was outraged and “from that time on…kept a jealous eye on David” (s Sam. 18:9).  Since then, Saul was so determined to kill David.

There is a Chinese saying:  ” If you compare those above you, you will never be contended.  But you can always see a lot of people that is below you.

The comparison game is foolish and self-destructive.  Someone will always have something we don’t or enjoy experiences different from ours.  But we should learn to count our blessings.  Let us focus on Him in thankfulness to overcome jealousy. – (Alyson Kieda)[:]
