[:en]Thoughts from Psalms 70[:]

[:en]David was going through a difficult time.  His enemies were going to trap him.  He was asking God to hasten, to come quickly, to save, to help and deliver him.  This urgent pleading was repeated twice in verses 1 & 5.  It seemed that God was tarrying and delaying.  And what did David do?  He did 3 things:  (1)- he sought Him. (2)- he rejoiced in Him, (3)- he exalted Him (v. 4)

This is a good lesson for us to learn.  When God is not moving as rapidly as we expect He should,  when we think God is tarrying instead of working, delaying instead of actiing, we should seek Him, be glad in Him and magnify the Lord.  Let Him worry about the timetable.  For all things are working together for good.  He wants the right time to reveal His victories.  His time is always perfect.

God’s timing is also shown in the following people:

  1. Abraham had to wait till 100 years old before he became a father
  2. Noah was told to build an ark.  He waited till he was 600 years old when the floodwaters came on the earth (Gen. 7:6)
  3. Hannah had to wait for sometime before she had her son, Samuel
  4. The people of Israel had to wait patiently before being delivered out from Egypt
  5. Moses had to wait through 10 plagues before Pharaoh would let the people go
  6. Joshua and Caleb had to wait 40 years before claiming their inheritance
  7. David had to wait before he received his throne
  8. Job had to suffer and wait before he was restored and blessed.
  9. Joseph had to wait for God to free him from prison
  10. Mary and Martha had to wait for Jesus to come to Bethany before Lazarus was raised up.

So, when you are in a desperate siutation and God delays answering your prayer, He may have a better plan for you.  His delays are neither denials nor defeats.  So put your times in His hands and wait on the Lord. (Ps. 31:15).  Your Father’s timing is never wrong.[:]
