[:en]Asaph was telling us to give thanks to God, to give thanks to His name and to tell of His wonderful deeds.
He wanted us to know the following facts:
- God is going to judge the earth and all its people uprightly in His appointed time (v. 2)
- God remains firm and strong even when the earth and all its people quake (v. 3)
- God is against the arrogant and the wicked (v. 5) They cannot get away from their evil deeds. One day, they must drink the wine of God’s wrath (v. 8). The wicked will be cut off and the righteous will be lifted iup.
- God despises the proud. He will bring them down.
- Continue to worship God by singing praises to God. Be His witness to the earth.
