[:en]Thoughts from Psalms 106[:]

[:en]God delivered Israelites from Egypt, but they forgot His mercy and ignored His counsel (vs. 6-23).  He gave them manna but they lusted for meat.  They worshiped a golden idol and when they reached the border of the Promised Land, they refused to go in (vs. 24-25).  Later,  they compromised with the heathen nations and shed innocent blood of their sons and daughters by sacrificing them to the idols of Canaan  (vs. 28-31).   But because of His covenant with Abraham, God noticed their distress and heard their cry.  He forgave them out of His great love.

Those who maintain justice and constantly do what is right shall proclaim the mighty acts of the Lord.  They shall enjoy prosperity, share the joy of the nations and join in His inheritance (v. 5)

Summary:

Praise the Lord and give thanks to Him for He is good, his love endures forever (v. 1)  Remember His mighty deeds.  Be satisfied with what God has given to you.  Do not worship idols.  Believe in His promise.   Do not rebel against the Lord.  Do not mingle with sin by adopting customs of heathen nation.  Call on the Lord and give thanks to His holy name.  Praise be to the Lord from everlasting to everlasting.  Praise the Lord![:]
