[:en]This is the longest Psalm with “God’s Word” as the theme. This Psalm is arranged according to the Hebrew alphabet with 8 verses in each alphabet. The Psalmist used different terms to signify God Word – Ways, Law, Statutes, Precepts, Decrees, Commands, Laws, Word, Teachings, Truth, Path, Testimonies, Judgment, Promise.
ALEPH (vs. 1-8)
Those who are blameless, who walk according to the law of the Lord, who keep His statutes, who seek Him with all their heart will be blessed. God, the author of the Bible will bless you with a life of integrity.
BETH (vs. 9-16)
You must keep God’s word in your heart and live according to His Word. You must meditate on His precepts and delight in His decrees. Cultivate an appetite for the Word of God. If you obey His Word, hide His Word, preach His Word, and honor His Word, God will keep you clean in this dirty world.
GIMEL (vs. 17-24)
As strangers in the earth, we need a “road map” to hlelp us know the way. The Bible is our road map and our trusted counselor. God’s Word will guide us on the pilgrim path of life’s journey. Meditate God’s Word in your mind. Delight God’s Word in your heart and obey God’s Word in your will.
DALETH (vs. 25-32)
Although we come from dust, but we can have new life from the Lord. The Word of God can revive and strengthen us. The way of truth can set out hearts free. A free heart is open to God’s truth and is obedient to God’s Word A happy heart is occupied with God’s glory. It brings us blessings of life.[:]
