[:en]LAMEDH (vs. 89-96)
The Psalmist calso called God’s Word as laws (v. 91), precepts (v. 93), statutes (v. 95), and commands (v. 96). God’s Word is eternal. It stands firm in the heavens (v. 89). Nothing can change or destroy it. “Heavens and earth will pass away, but my Word will by no means pass away” (Mat. 24:35). the same Word that created the world (v. 90), and runs the world (v. 91) will also direct your life and give you security. Start reading His Word now!
MEM (vs. 97-104)
The Word of God gives us wisdom, insights and understanding. That’s why Job said: “I have treasured the words of His mouth more than my daily bread” (Job. 23:12). Jerremiah said: “when your Words came, I ate them. They were my joy and my heart’s delight” (Jer. 15:16). Jesus said: “Man shall not live by bread alone but by every Word that comes from the mouth of God” (Mat. 4:4). Peter encouraged us to desire pure milk of the Word (1 Pet. 2:2). John said: “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God and the Word was God. He was with God in the beginning” (John 12:1-2)
“How sweet are your words to my taste, sweeter than honey to my mourh” (v. 103). Yes, the Word of God is not only food for the inner person, it is also a healing medicine. When we are physically sick, we lost our appetite. When our spiritual condition is not well, it affects our spiritual appetite and we do not want the honey, the bread, the milk and the Word itself. But if we want to grow spiritually, we have to read His Word that corrects us. The first bite of Scripture may taste sour, but it will turn sweet if we love it, learn it and live it.
NUN (vs. 105-112)
“Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light for my path” (v. 1). The Word is a lamp because it guides our way. The world is full of darkness. We are blinded by temptations around us. We have more education but less wisdom, more choices but poor decision, more riches but less character. That is why we need God to light our path. His path is truth, righteousness and full of blessings. But we have to walk by faith and not by sight.
