[:en]SAMEKH (vs. 113-120)
Three important characters of the Psalmist:
- He hated double minded men
- He loved God’s law
- He put his hope in God’s Word.
He asked God:
- to keep the evildoers away from him. (v. 115)
- to sustain him according to His promise (v. 116)
- to uphold and deliver him (v. 117)
- to discard the wicked of the earth like dross (v. 119)
Let us follow the Psalmist to hate people who are unstable in their thoughts. Let us love God’s laws and put our hope in HIm.
AYIN (VS. 121-128)
The Psalmist was asking God:
- to protect him against the oppresors (v. 121)
- to ensure his well-being (v. 122a)
- to keep him out from the arrogant (v. 122b)
- to fulfill His righteous promise of salvation (v. 123)
- to deal with him according to His love (v. 124a)
- to teach him His decrees (v. 124b)
- to give him discernment so that he may understand His statutes (v. 125)
“All scripture is God breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousnes” (2 Tim. 3:16), God’s Word is His truth. It is inerrant. It is a perfect manual for us to foloow in our life’s journey. No wonder, the psalmist declared: “I love your command more than gold., more than pure gold. And because I consider all your precepts right, I hate every wrong path” (v. 127-128)[:]
