During the 1950s and 1960s, three actresses – Audrey Hepburn, Natalie Wood and Deborah Kerr were very popular with their compelling performances. But the one who contributed to the classic films’ successes was actually due to Marni Nexon, who dubbed the voices for each of those leading ladies. But she was completely uncredited for her vital contribution.
This is also true in the body of Christ. There are often people who faithfully support others but they themselves are not being recognized. Among the examples were: Tertius, who worked as a scribe, Epaphras, who prayed for Paul, and Lydia, who welcomed the weary apostles to her home.
We may not always have highly visible roles. But if we give oursleves fully to the work of the Lord, we will find value and meaning in our service as it brings glory to God and draws others to Him. The secret of true service is absolute faithfulness wherever God places you. – (Cindy Hess Kasper)[:]
