[:en]COULD I SAY THAT?

Joseph was the favorite son of his father Jacob.  Because of favortism, his older brothers got jealous and heated him.  When Joseph brought food to his brothers, they sold him to merchant traveling to Egypt and made it appear that a wild animal had killed him. (Gen. 37:12-36)

He was falsely accused by his employer’s wife and was imprisoned.  While he was struggling with the injustice of his situation, he relied on God and trusted the Lord.  When a famiine strike, his brothers came to Egypt to buy grain and were terrified to discover that their younger brother was the Prime Minister.  But Joseph comforted them with these words:  “Do not be distressed and do not be angry with yourselves for selling me here, because it was to save lives that God sent me ahead of you…. It was not you who sent me here, but God” (Gen. 45:5, 8)

If you are in Joseph’s situation, will you be able to say what Joseph said?  Or will you take that occasion to take revenge?

In the darkest hours of life, only through the eyes of faith can we see the loving hand of God. – (David Mccasland)[:]
