[:en]Thoughts from Psalms 129[:]

[:en]There are so many pictures of suffering found in the Word of God:  Going through the storm……going through the furnace……going through a battle……carrying a burden…… a thorn in the flesh.

The Psalmist was using plowing as a picture of personal suffering.  He was being greatly oppressed.  They were plowing his back.  They don’t care how he felt and treated him like dirt.

Without plowing, there can be no harvest.  When you encounter plow of criticism and accusation, God is planning a harvest for you.  During this moment, you should plant the right kind of seed.  If you plant anger, malice, revenge and hatred, the harvest is going to be a bitter one.  But you plant the seeds of the Word of God, letting love, patience and peace reign in your heart, the righteous Lord will take care of your problem.  Trust the Lord to help you in His own time.  For He will cut you free from the cords of the wicked (v. 4).  He will put your enemies to shame and make them wither like grass on the roof  (v. 6).

Plowing preceeds harvest.  But plowing must be followed by planting and watering.  Plant the right seed and wait for God to give you water.  And His  blessings will be upon you in the name of the Lord (v. 5).[:]
