[:en]OUR FATHER’S FACE

When Asaph, the author of Psalm looked north from the vantage point in Jerusalim, he saw Israel invaded by Assyrian Empire.  With her buffer state gone, Judah was vulnerable to invasion from all sides – Assyria from the north, Egypt from the south, and the Arab nations from the east.  She was outnumbered and outmatched.

In his fears, Asaph wanted to see the Lord’s face.  He prayed three times:  “Make your face shine on us, that we may be saved” (Ps. 80:3, 8, 19).

Every time there is fear in you, look at our heavenly Father’s face.  His love and care are reflected  in His face. – (David Roper)
