[:en]LOVE FOR CHILDREN
With his dream to become a medical missionary in China, Thomas Barnada entered the London Hospital medical school in 1865. However, he discovered that his own country had lots of homeless children living and dying on the streets of London. So he determined to develop homes for the destitute and rescue some 60,000 boys and girls from poverty and death. Theologian and pastor John Stott said: “Today, we might call him the patron saint of street kids”.
When people brought little children to Jesus for him to place his hands on them and pray for them, the disciples rebuked them. But Jesus said. “Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these” (Mat. 19:13-14) Jesus welcomed, blessed and valued children.
James challenged Christians to care for orphans. Today, many children are being neglected and abused. We must honor the Father by showing love and care for these little ones. – (Bill Crowder)[:]
