[:en]Moral Benefits of Wisdom

Accept God’s Word.  Store up His commnads.  Turn your ear to wisdom and apply your heart to understanding.  Fear the Lord and find the knowledge of God.  For the Lord gives wisdom and from His mouth comes knowledge and understanding (vs. 1-6)

True wisdom comes from knowledge of Jesus Christ and through His Word.  Solomon was urging your men to lay hold of divine wisdom because it will bring blessings to his life. (vs. 6-7)

Life’s path is not easy.  The power of the world, the flesh and the devil are out to tempt us into the wrong way.  Having the wisdom of God and keeping His Word can protect our paths and keep us safe from danger.  Discretion will protect us and understanding will guard us to walk in the straight ways (vs. 8-11)

There are two dangerous kinds of people to avoid:

  1.  The evil men – They are walking in the dark and crooked path.  Their ways are devious and their words perverse (vs. 12-15)
  2. The adulteress – She uses flattery and seductive words to appeal to the appetites of the flesh.  She has left the partner of her youth and broken her marriage vows.  She entices and leads the foolish and young men into the paths of death (vs. 16-19)

Walking in the ways of good men and keeping to the paths of the righteous will live in the land.  But the wicked and the unfaithful will be cut off from the land. (vs. 20-22)
