[:en]THE MINISTRY OF MOURNING
The death of Stephen, a dynamic witness for Jesus brought shock and sorrow to those in the early church (Acts 7:57-60). In the face of persecution, “Godly men buried Stephen and mourned deeply for him” (Acts 8:2). It was a shared expression of otheir sorrow.
As followers of Jesus, we should reach out to others who are hurting. We can grieve together and grow in understanding and in the peace that comes from the Lord Jesus Christ. We can also accept in humility the concern of those who stand beside us during our deepest sorrow. Let us bring healing to others through the ministry of mourning. – (David Mccasland)[:]
